Clare is on a price match mission at Curry's

Aug242010

new hoover is FORTY QUID cheaper in Sainsbury than where we bought it, look out!

We had to buy a new hoover during the move, our old Dyson packed in (think I have had that hoover as long as I've had this blog, I bet one of my first blog posts was about buying it), so we got a new one, the rolling ball hoover. Bought it from Currys as we needed one right away, then found Sainsburys are selling it for forty pounds less, so we are trying out Currys "if you find it cheaper in seven days" promise. Looks like we should get the money back, result!

I am not linking to the actual vacuum cleaner as I am resisting the urge to search on line as I don't want to know how much more we could have saved with a bit of forward planning...

You could have repaired your Dyson - I'm not sure ours has any of the original parts left. Clutch, motor, hose, switch, flex, accessories have all been replaced over the years by me. Maybe I should have just bought another. Not a great advert for Dyson's though.

It's overheating which is beyond my skills, overheating causes it to cut out. I found out how to bodge it and stop it cutting out but that would be dangerous. Have had it for seven years, with only minor issues in that time that I fixed myself by taking it apart and cleaning it.

We got £44 back from Currys eventually, Clare had to be persistent with them and they stalled and messed up and were unpleasant about it but in the end they paid up the £40 price difference plus another 10%.

In the end I have been bold enough to search online, we did get a good price.
